Rockies Game

May 24th, 2011: I love watching live baseball and will take any opportunity to do so! My friend Heather and I thought it would be fun to go to a Rockies game after our monthly leadership meeting. We had a great time (even though it was a little cold and rainy at times) and the Rockies pulled it together for a win!!

Friday May 6, 2011: My cousin Laura walked in the UNC graduation ceremony tonight for her doctorate degree in instrumental conducting! She will officially finish in June, but was able to walk tonight. I am amazed by her dedication and drive.

I couldn't believe it when I drove by Parkwood Lake and there were 50+ pelicans. Usually, there are about 5 pelicans on that lake, so I was suprised to see the large group that was there for a few days.

Sunday March 13, 2011: I am so lucky to have a friend that is an amazing seamstress! Today, Tara had four of us over to teach us how to use our sewing machines and helped us make a great bag (with her fabrics!). We had a great afternoon and went home with a finished product...thanks Tara!

Saturday March 5, 2011: The guys were having a guys weekend in Winter Park, so the girls decided to get together here at home. We were also celebrating Sheri and Gina's birthdays! We started with a hike in the early afternoon, then pedicures and manicures in the evening, followed by a yummy dinner and drinks. Everyone had such a great time!

January 26, 2011: My Project Life kit has shipped!!! The date on the tracking page on Amazon.com says it should be delivered tomorrow! Hopefully I will have a gift when I get home from work tomorrow. I can't wait to get set up and get started!

January 24, 2011- I love the Project life kit Jen got, so since they are back in stock, I decided to order one myself! With the last Project 365, I didn't really branch out of the picture a day format, and this time I want to do a picture a day but also add some more embellishments as well as different layouts. I like the fact you can buy different size page protectors to fit in the kit (including 12x12) and I will take inspiration from others doing this same project!

Field Trip

October 7th: I was fortunate to be able to go with Zoe's kindergarten class on a field trip to Dyecrest Dairy in Fort Collins. We had a great time learning about the cows and the dairy. Dyecrest has over 3000 head of cattle and is one of the largest registered herds in the country. They milk the cows three times a day and we were able to go into the milking room..which was noisy! We also learned about what the cows eat, and we were able to see some calves...it was a fun day!

The kids were able to go into the shed they keep the different food in for the cows and were allowed to feel all of it. This was one of the kids favorite places to visit!

This was another favorite of the class...we were able to walk all around the area they had calves which were between 1 and 60 days old. Most were skittish, but we were able to find some that would let us pet them and they would also suck on our fingers!

September 26th- Happy 3rd birthday Addy!! Her actual birthday is September 27th, but it fell on a Monday this year, so Jen and Jared had her parties (yes, parties) on the 26th. The first party was a joint birthday party with Coleby at a local park. I can't believe the weather we have been having, it was in the mid-upper 80's! The second party was a Grammy and Poppy's house for the family. It was a long day, but a great one too!

September 25- Every year CSU has an Ag Day game and an awesome barbecue. The barbecue has different foods that are grown all over Colorado including meats, beans, dairy, potatoes, watermelon and apples. This year was "orange out" at the game. It was a throwback to when CSU was the Colorado A&M Aggies and their colors were orange and green. I couldn't believe how many orange shirts were in the stands. We had a great time, and CSU won their first game this season, ending their twelve game losing streak!!

An annual tradition in Fort Collins (and now many other cities across the country) is the Tour de Fat. Put on by New Belgium Brewing, the tour is a bike parade to raise money...and also dress up! A group of us decided to be runaway brides this year and have slowly been making our costumes. Jen and I decided to make signs for our bikes so people would know we were runaway brides and not just brides. These signs just started out as a piece of wood...

More to come after the tour on Saturday...I hope to have a lot of fun pictures!!

Saturday July 10: My cousin Laura came out to Colorado to work on her dissertation and was able to visit us for a few days! She used to live in Greeley but now is teaching in West Virginia. It has been a while since we have seen her and we were so excited to see her! We went up the canyon to the Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park which is right along the Big Thompson River. It was my first time going to the park, and it was beautiful! We had such a great time!

July 3rd: Jen, Mom, Aunt Patsy, the girls and I went to Greeley for the annual Greeley Stampede Parade. This was the first time I had ever been and it was a lot of fun! The girls go a little bored because they didn't allow candy or anything to be thrown out, but it was still a fun time!

Allison, Jen, and I met up with Janet B. and played golf Friday morning. This was our second year of playing golf....we always have such a great time!

June 10-13th: We were in Estes Park this weekend for our annual scrapbook retreat at the Chisholm cabin. We always have such a great time! This year the weather wasn't so great, so we weren't able to eat out on the porch, or play games outside like we usually do. We still had a fantastic time together though!!

Horsetooth Rock

May 23rd: Wow! What a beautiful day here in Colorado. A little breezy, but nice after such a long winter. I decided to take the camera out to the Nature Center again today. I saw a couple of deer while I was there and loved the peacefulness of the walk I took! I also took a drive up to Horsetooth Reservoir and got a couple of shots, although they turned out a little hazy.

March 7th: I woke up to a crisp, cool, foggy morning and decided to go to the Environmental Learning Center to walk around and take some pictures with my new camera. I was the only person out there and was able to get some great pictures. I decided to go out there at least once a season (especially since it is right down the street) and take pictures!

Feb 13th: I got my tax refund and of course it was burning a hole in my pocket! I have been wanting to upgrade to a DSLR camera for a while and finally had the chance to get one! I had done some research and decided on the Nikon D3000...and I love it! I can't wait to see what I can do with it. These are some pictures that I took today!

Feb 10th: I took Jake into Petsmart this morning for a haircut...he won't let me brush him, so he ends up getting mats in his hair. When I asked how he did, the groomer told me that he doesn't know he is a cat! I believe it...he loves to play fetch! He is definitely the cutest (I mean fiercest) cat around!!

Oct 25th: There was a 24 hour contest today on the cricut.com website using the new Gypsy machine. The rules were: 1. You have 24 hourse to create (from midnight to midnight eastern time). 2. You can only use 3 cartridges - the 2 that come preloaded on them machine and then 1 more of your choice. 3. Be CREATIVE!!!!

I wasn't sure when I woke up this morning if I was going to participate...I didn't really have any ideas, but as the day went on, I finally got an idea! I went to Michael's around 2 to buy supplies, and worked until 9:15...cutting it close because I had to have the instructions typed in and posted by 10. After some trials and tribulations with the website, I finally got it posted. Now, the public gets to vote and the project with the most votes wins a trip to NYC and a $2000 gift card to the new Michael's in NYC!!!!!! I hope I get some votes!!

Sept 19th: All I have to say is Jason Mraz!!!!! Jen and I went to see him at Red Rocks tonight, and it was AMAZING! The concert was sold out and we had great seats...6th row center! July 7th: Today I took Zoe to the Fort Collins Museum/Discovery Science Center for a new program they started called the "Knee High Knapsack Club." Zoe and I got to look for "bugs" in the grass (colored pasta), and Zoe and a little boy named Jack were paired and used magnifying glasses to search for real bugs in the lawn. She had so much fun and we are definitely going back next week!

July 4th: We drove over to Jeremy and Sheri's for a bar-b-que before riding out bikes to Rebecca's house right by city Park. It rained for a while, and we weren't sure that they would have the show, but it cleared up and turned into a nice night. We were able to just sit on Rebecca's from lawn and watch the fire works from there. The show was great, and the kids did really well!

July 2nd: Today, we took a private tour of New Belgium (thanks for setting it up Jared!). The tour guide used to work with mom at the bank, and did a fantastic job. I am so thankful that we had this opportunity, and that we have such a great company in town!

July 1st: Uncle Tom and Aunt Kathy were here for a visit before heading up to Estes for the Remboldt family reunion and we decided to play Balderdash tonight. Dad and I ended up tying, but it was a lot of fun!!

June 27th: I went to Jen's today and saw this baby bird on the arm of a chair in her front yard. It stayed there all day...we weren't sure if it was hurt or not, so we gave it some water and called the wildlife division of the humane society (although they never called back). Eventually, it moved off the chair into the yard!

June 26th: Look Mom....no cavities!!! I went to the dentist today for my 6 month cleaning, and everything was great. I had a new hygenist who was a little rough..so my mouth hurt the rest of the day..but there's nothing like the clean feeling in my mouth right after a visit to the dentist!

June 25th: I love NCIS. My mom had told me about this show before, but I didn't think it sounded very good. Boy, was I wrong! I happened to catch it when USA was having a marathon, and fell in love with it. It is funny and has a great story line!

June 22nd: Oh my gosh...the rivers and lakes here are so full (due to all of the rain we've had in June). This is the Poudre river as seen from County Road 5. I love that the people that live right here tethered up a large float to the bridge!

June 21st: This is actually a photo from last night...the Fort Collins Irish Festival was in town and Jen had given me tickets to go. My friend Julie and I love the Young Dubliners, and they were playing both Sat and Sun, but we only saw them Sun. They always put on such a great show!!

June 20th: Today was the annual Junior League Garden Tour. Jen and I were able to go since our mom got us tickets from work. There were so many beautiful gardens this year...so much fun!

June 13th: I took the plunge recently and got a laptop. I got an HP and it has been great so far...faster than my last computer!! I am planning on going back to school in the fall, so it will be nice to be able to pick up my computer and go!

May 28th: Jen and I went to the hospital to take the TCU staff a thank you card and rice krispie treats for taking such good care of our Grandpa. We stopped into Kohls there to look around and when we came out, there were these two little ducklings walking into the store. It appears they got separated from their mom and there were some good samaritans trying to help them out! They were really cute!

April 29th: Tonight was the employee of the year dinner for work. Jen went with me..it was a great time. I wasn't a recipient (although there's another story about that!), but we had so much fun! In the pictures with me are two other nominees: DJ, a ward clerk/CNA on Surgical and Susan, a PA for one of the surgical groups. Susan was one of the recipients, very much deserved.

April 27th: I was in my kitchen this morning and happened to look down and there was a rub-on on my floor. I don't know how it got rubbed on there, but I have a suspicion that the cats had something to do with it!

April 22nd: I made this cuta album for Zoe's 4th birthday. I got the album at Michaels for $1, and only recently found out that they had paper already cut to the size and shape of the album..oh well, I love the paper I found for it!

April 21st: This is the view that I get when driving home from my Mom and Dad's house. The road had been under construction for a couple of years and finally opened last summer. It is now such an easy, light free drive to get to my parents (and Super Target!).

April 19th: Another fun filled Sunday evening at Grammy and Poppy's house! It was really nice out tonight, so we pulled the slides down and blew some bubbles!

April 18th: Mom was watching the girls so Jen could do homework and at lunch time they were feeding eachother...it was so cute! Then came bath time and they had a blast together!

April 14th: This is my parking space at my condo. It's not a garage, but it's a carport and it helps to protect my car from the elements!

April 13th: I love this camera case! When I bought this camera, I knew I needed a case so it wouldn't get damaged in my bag. I found this one at Target and love the colors!

April 12th: Happy Easter! We went to my Aunt Patsy and Uncle Bob's house in Loveland to celebrate. We "hid" eggs in the front yard for the girls to find...they had a blast!

April 11th: I was very honored to be nominated for Employee of the Year at work this year. There were 250 employees nominated this year (of 3000+ employees) and 25 will win it. I will find out on April 29th if I won this year. This is my invitation to the awards dinner...very clever!

April 9th: This is what the inside of my fridge looks like. I wonder what Rachael Ray would say about it (she looks inside a celebrity's fridge each month in her magazine)!

April 9th: Ugh.....dishes! I ususally only cook once or twice a week and this is what my sink looks like after cooking. Sometimes it stays that way for a few days...I need to get better at doing the dishes right away.

April 6th: The cats know that when I get up in the morning and head out into the kitchen, it is time for their treats. They love these Temptations treats and meow until they get them. Jake will eat any flavor, but Chloe only likes the Turkey ones, so that is what they get.
