Jan 26: Zoe had wanted a Care Bear cake for her birthday this year, but we couldn't find a cake pan, so we took her to Michaels to pick out a cake pan. She loves Scooby Doo, so it was natural for her to migrate toward that pan. I decided I better do a test run, and since I didn't have to work today, I thought today would be a great day! I think it turned out pretty good...hopefully it will turn out this good for her birthday!

Jan 25: Jen and I had gone to see Slumdog Millionaire on Saturday night, but once we were in the theater we had to sit in the second row, so we got our money back. We decided to try again today and got to the theater about 45 minutes early to get a good seat. Luckily, Jen brought her travel Scrabble game (which our neighbors loved!), which helped to pass the time. What a great movie...I definitely would recommend it!

Jan 17: Jen and I took the girls to the Discovery Science Center today for the first time. Addy loved pushing all the buttons and exploring. Zoe loved the light room. This picture is of a wall in the light room that makes rainbow images of your movements. I think Zoe could have stayed here all day!!

Jan 16: Trying to keep up with this blog is hard sometimes, but I am trying to get on at least once or twice a week (the ultimate goal is everyday!). I think that it is a great way to get my journaling down for the week because I know if I look at some of these pictures next month, I will have no idea what I was thinking at the time. I love the idea of this project, and I hope that I continue to do it every year because there is always something new going on every day!
Jan 14: Chloe is such a shy cat, but when I am home by myself she loves to lay in my lap. I got her when she was just 6 months old from the humane society and she was such a lovebug then too. She likes to be where I am, unless there is someone else at the house, then I can most likely find her underneath the bed!
Jan 13: I am so grateful gas prices have come back down. This is the first time in 3-1/2 years that I remember being able to fill my tank for less than $20. I went to King Soopers this night after work and I couldn't believe that it was less than $18!!!!! I hope that the gas prices don't climb back up to over $4 a gallon.

Jan 9: I went back to the Northern Colorado Eye Center today for an "enhancement" on my right eye from the Lasik surgery I had in March. The right eye still was a bit blurry, so hopefully now I will be able to see the board at work. It only took about 10 minutes from start to finish, and I will have a follow up appointment tomorrow. I have to wear the plastic eye shield for the next 7 nights in bed, and I will also have to do a bunch of eye drops. I hope this is the only time I have to go back for a touch up!!
Jan 8th: I got home from work last night and was so excited to see a large box on my doorstep! The Project 365 kits had arrived. It was such a challenge to order them in the first place (1 1/2 hrs on the computer with 2 of us working on it) that I was thrilled they got here so fast. They shipped from Denver, so we were probably one of the first ones to get them since we are so close. The kit is great and came with a lot of cool stuff. I can't wait to see how everyone's book is going to turn out!
Jan 7th: Jen and I joined 24 hour fitness last year when it first opened and we were really good about going to the gym for about 3 months, and then life happened. This was my first day back to the gym in about 3 months...better late than never!!! I am trying to consistently go to the gym to train for the Tri for the Cure in August!!
Jan 5th: Mom and dad and I have been playing a running game of Shanghai since sometime last year. Whoever has the highest score at the end of a quarter gets to pick a place for lunch or dinner and the other two have to buy their meal. Then our score starts over for the next quarter. So far we have each won...I won the first quarter, dad won the second, and then mom won this last leg (we didn't restart after the 3rd quarter because we didn't play very much). This was the first game of the new quarter...and as always, it was a great time!
I worked Jan 2nd, and didn't take a picture...I know, only the second day, and I already missed a picture. I have continued to take a picture everyday since then though. On Jan 3rd, mom and I walked around downtown. We went to White Balcony, The Cupboard, Perenial Gardner, Sense of Place, Trimble Court, and Ten Thousand Villages and didn't buy one thing. It was fun walking around downtown though...I love it here!
