January 17, 2013

This has been my go-to breakfast this week - Almond Coconut milk and protein powder.  Sometimes I blend it with frozen fruit to make a smoothie, but it tastes great on its own too.

I got this treat canister at Home Goods - my new favorite store!  They have everything from towels to furniture.  I think they can have some really good deals and their inventory is always different.

Jake was still not eating and continued to vomit last night, so I called the vet and she wanted him to come in and stay for the day.  I took him in and they did xrays, put in an IV and gave him more fluids, gave him some more medicine and tried to get him to eat.  When I picked him up, the vet told me she left the IV in, just in case he needed more fluids tomorrow (thankfully, because I wouldn't have to pay for it again).

Jake has not been feeling well since Saturday and has not eaten since then.  He also was not acting like himself - spending a lot of time in the bedroom and not coming out to greet anyone.  I was worried about him, so I took him in to see the vet today.  They weren't sure what was going on, so they got some blood work and gave him some medicine.  They also gave him a bolus of fluid under his skin since I couldn't tell if he was drinking or not.

First Digital Project Life Pages

I have finished (at least for now) my first digital Project Life pages.  I'm sure I will want to tweak them here or there as I continue to get new embellishments, but I am happy with the pages so far!

This chair is Lexi's perch.  She loves to look out the window and watch the world go by.  She will bark or growl at anyone who she can see (no matter how far away they are) - I think she just likes them to know she's here.  I'm sure there is going to be a day when she is too big to fit up on the back of the chair, but I love that she has found a spot that she loves to be!

I took two pictures today - one planned and one not!  The first is a screen shot from my phone of the temperature this morning.  We are in the middle of a cold snap right now, and it is miserable!  I can't wait for it to warm up!  The second is when I came home after a girl's night at Jaime's house.  I had just washed the cover to Lexi's bed in her kennel earlier in the day and I don't know if it smelled different, but she ripped it to shreds.  Needless to say, she now only has a blanket in her kennel!

January 11, 2013

I heard we were expecting some snow today, but it wasn't supposed to be much.  Lexi was wanting to play outside, so I grabbed my camera and was able to grab this shot!

Lexi got spayed yesterday.  When I picked her up, she was happy to see me, but wasn't feeling very good.  By the time we got home, she ran right into her kennel.  I could tell she was uncomfortable, but she wouldn't even touch her pain pills - even though I put it in a pill pocket.  Usually she loves pill pockets- they are just like a yummy treat.  This morning, I tried again, and she gobbled the pill up in the pill pocket - I think she's feeling better!

January 9, 2013

Lexi, my 5 month old puppy, who you will surely meet got spayed today.  I was going to take a picture to document that somehow, but she is not feeling well today, so I will take one tomorrow.  Instead, the picture for today represents what I was doing while she rested.  I got caught up on my Jessica Sprague class for the digital version of Project Life.  Jessica is amazing and makes it very easy to learn how to make a page.  I will definitely be taking more classes from her!

January 8, 2013

I have dog toys spread all over my house - I thought this image was a good representation of what my floors always look like with scattered dog toys - until I just looked down and there are at least 5 toys on my bedroom floor!  I love having a puppy- they are so much fun!

Once again, I am going to try doing Project Life to document my year.  I have had a hard time making it past April, but have faith this year that I can keep up with it.  One of my goals this year is to take a picture in a manual setting on my camera daily, so that should help!  This year I am going to try the digital version of Project Life which I also think I will have more success with.

In order to help me with learning how to do the digital version, I signed up for a week long class with my sister - here's to learning something new!
